Who can Apply? Check Your Eligibility

Income Categories:

  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): Annual income up to ₹3 lakh.
  • Low-Income Group (LIG): Annual income between ₹3-6 lakh.
  • Middle-Income Group (MIG): Annual income up to ₹9 lakh.

First-time Home Buyer conditions:

  • The primary applicant or their family must not have availed any housing subsidies before. (family includes husband, wife and unmarried children)
  • Only one subsidy per family.

Property Criteria:

  • The house must be in a statutory town or notified planning area.
  • It should be the beneficiary’s first pucca house.

Criteria Details 
Maximum Housing Loan Amount 25 Lakh Rupees
Maximum House Value Amount 35 Lakh Rupees
Maximum Carpet Area  120 sq. m
Maximum benefit of interest subsidy (actual release) 1.80 Lakh Rupees over 5 years
Tenure Has to be more than 5 years
Female Ownership At least one female member must be a co-owner (Exemptions: widower, unmarried, separated persons, transgender applicants)

 

Step-by-step Application Process

Step 1: Check your eligibility

Make sure you meet the income, first-home, and loan conditions mentioned above.

Step 2: Gather your documents 

  • Applicant’s Aadhaar Card (mandatory)
  • Aadhaar details of family members 
  • Active bank account details of the applicant linked with Aadhaar
  • Income proof (if any)
  • Property documents (sale agreement, NOC, etc.)

Step 3: Application

  1. Contact/visit the nearest HomeFirst branch.
  2. We will submit your application through the official PMAY 2.0 portal.
  3. Carry the above-mentioned documents.

Step 4: Track Your Application

You can track your application status on the PMAY 2.0 website using your reference number. Updates will also be sent via SMS or email.

What Happens Next?

Once your application is submitted:

Verification & Validation – Our HO team will confirm your loan & property details.

Geo-Tagging & Authentication—We will use the PMAY mobile app to conduct face authentication (via Aadhaar) and geo-tag your property.

Final Approval – The application is forwarded for subsidy approval.

Subsidy Credit – Upon approval, the subsidy amount will be directly credited to your HomeFirst loan account, reducing your EMI or loan tenure.
